My first time doing volunteery work at the old folk's home!!! hahaz... so happy... :) today, i went to the old folk's home at Serangoon. The place is very big n looks like a small hospital. When we reached there, the person in charge explained to us wat to look out for in the wheelchair n how to move the elderly abt in the wheelchair. Everything was very new to me... hahaz... then, we can choose the old folk tt we want to look after n we were supposed to push them around the place for 1 big round. It is very exhausting when i pushed the ah ma up the slope... hahaz... too small size cannot control the wheelchair well. After tt, we played some games with them n give them their tea break n we had ours shortly after tt. When we pushed the elderly back to their room, the person-in-charge bring us around the place n tell us at each level of the home, wat type of patients lived there. Along the way, we sae hello to them n shake hands with some of them. Overall, it is a great experience for me n i had a better understanding abt the old folk's home after this trip... hahaz...
